Can you tell us a bit about your background and your journey to your current role at Universal Tankers?

My journey to Universal Tankers has taken many different paths, from working in the bus and coach industry to the HGV sector. When I joined Universal, I started working in the yard. As the company grew, I was determined to grow with it. I always put myself forward to help wherever the business needed support, which gave me the opportunity to work across many different areas of the company over the years.

Those experiences made me even more determined to keep developing, learning new skills, and never being afraid to take on a challenge. That mindset has driven my own development, and it's something I encourage others to embrace as the business continues to grow.

What do you enjoy most about working at Universal Tankers, and what keeps you motivated?

I've always loved a challenge and never shy away from one. I believe that nothing is unachievable—there's always a solution or a different way of approaching a problem. I genuinely enjoy being trusted with challenges and finding ways to overcome them.

Since progressing from Group Head of Transport to Managing Director, I've found even greater satisfaction in helping our teams grow and develop. Empowering the people who keep the business moving every day has been incredibly rewarding. We have an exceptionally talented workforce, and seeing individuals develop, succeed, and reach their potential is what motivates me every day.
